Going the Extra Mile in Photography
Onni Wiljami is a Finnish advertising photographer and visual creator known for his ability to go the extra mile —always pushing beyond expectations to deliver striking, high-quality imagery.
At the turn of the millennium, he pursued media studies in Southern Finland, which soon led him to Oulu’s most successful photography studio. There, he immersed himself in every aspect of the craft before continuing at the Institute of Visual Communications (VVI) in Tampere. Surrounded by inspiring mentors, he refined his skills and learned to combine technical mastery with creative vision. After four years of study —while simultaneously gaining hands-on studio experience— he graduated with top grades, ranking among the best in his class.
After a decade of honing his craft as an employee, Onni founded his own creative photography business in 2014. Since then, he has collaborated with outstanding creative teams on projects for clients such as Warner Bros. Discovery, McDonald’s, Pepsi, Sanoma, Telia, Nordea, and MTV, among many others. Alongside commercial work, he develops personal art projects that blend realism and fantasy to explore human emotion, social issues, climate change, and the relationship between humanity and nature.
Over two decades in, his passion for learning and pushing creative boundaries remains as strong as ever. He doesn’t measure success by the hours invested, but by the results achieved —because in his work, every detail matters.
Throughout his career, Onni’s photography has been recognized hundreds of times in major international award shows and featured in Lürzer’s Archive 200 Best Advertising Photographers and 200 Best Digital Artists Worldwide since 2019.
Outside of photography, he is a proud father to a lively six-year-old and an avid explorer, finding endless inspiration in the raw beauty of remote, rugged landscapes —far from civilization, where nature speaks its own language.
